Amarinth has completed a US$1.5 million order from Armada Madura for six API 610 VS4 vertical pumps for a new FPSO being built for India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC).

Two of the six API 610 VS4 pumps are pour point depressant pumps which may be 18m in length and the other 4 are methanol lift pumps that are 10m long.
All of the pumps have PT100 temperature sensors which were designed and built along the length of the pumps to observe the temperature of every bearing individually.
The 18m lengthy pumps incorporate a supporting system of brackets that Amarinth has designed which attaches each pump to its tank throughout set up ensuring that because the pump is lowered into the tank it stays completely aligned, decreasing vibration and wear throughout operation.
Once assembled, the pumps were independently witness tested and licensed by DNV at Amarinth’s facility in Rendlesham, UK. The pumps were then disassembled into 3m segments and shipped to Singapore the place the FPSO (floating manufacturing storage and offloading unit) is being built.
The pump supply and installation needed to align with the FPSO build schedule. Because of the size of the pumps, they needed to be put in into the vessel’s tanks via the deck before one other deck above the pumps could be built. The first part was accomplished successfully over the Christmas interval with Amarinth’s Engineering Commissioning group supporting the client with the installation and commissioning.
The FPSO might be positioned in the KG-DWN 98/2 field, approximately 22 km off the east coast of Kakinada, India. The vessel is designed to supply as much as 90 000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and have a 1.3-million-barrel storage facility. It might be equipped to handle the monsoon conditions prevalent at the subject.
